Barrister and actor, Kenneth Okonkwo has sued President Buhari to Court over ministerial appointments. The suit which comes up in the Federal High Court, Abuja with suit no: FHC/ ABJ / CS / 34 / 16 was to compel the President to appoint an indegene of the FCT as a Minister in Nigeria.
Speaking with Diamond Celebrities, Kenneth said : On November 11th, 2015, President Muhammadu Buhari inaugurated 36 ministers from the 36 states of Nigeria without appointing an indigene of the Federal Capital Territory as Minister. This is unconstitutional and discriminatory and has led to tensions in the FCT as the indigenes are becoming restive. All efforts to get the President to appoint an indegene of the FCT failed hence the need for this suit to compel the President to do the needful and avert a possible break down of law and order with catastrophic consequences in the FCT.

Kenneth Okonkwo foolishly playing to the gallery. The undue number of 19 states + Abuja in the once one region north, but mere 17 states in the once two regions south is what makes the southeast Igbo under-represented in any political process in Nigeria, it makes the Igbo a mere minority group in Nigeria. Okonkwo is like those Igbos who own property in Lagos and Abuja and thus see one Nigeria more important to them than to the northerner. The Okonkwos are selfish thinkers not able to look beyond the nose. Good the Abuja and Lagos property owners from Igbo land are very tiny minority of Igbo population.
Commendable . The issue of whether Barrister Okonkwo Kenneth is from FCT is unimportant . He is a lawyer, and the role of a lawyer in the society is in revisit , as a priest in the temple of justice.

These are the kind of Igbo I am most disappointed with. Someone in his capacity should use his celebrity status to give credence to the Biafran quest but the likes of him have remained silent waiting for the time to be ripped to off of the outcome.
