A popular television personality and her two teenage sons have died after a brutal knife attack, police said.

Stacy Fawcett was a food reporter on morning news show Daybreak on Channel 8 and became known as ‘Dallas’ Favourite Foodie’.

The 45-year-old and her son, 17-year-old Josiah Utu, were found murdered at their home 20 miles north of Dallas, Texas, on April 8.

Her other son, McCann Utu Jr, 19, is believed to have killed himself after the attack.

The Plano Police Department confirmed to People magazine that Stacy and her youngest son suffered fatal stab wounds on Friday when they were attacked by the teen, before he turned the knife on himself.

After the incident, a male called 911 to report the crime and officers “made entry into the residence and discovered a deceased adult male and adult female along with another adult male who was alive with multiple stab wounds.”

McCann died in hospital a short time later.

A spokesman for police told CBS: “Based on our investigation it appears that this individual had self-inflicted wounds, that he had given himself, and had also committed the murders of the other two individuals.”
