Shocking new footage has emerged showing the moment a black man was shot dead at close range by a white police officer.

Alton Sterling was blasted in the chest as he was pinned to the ground by officers outside a convenience store in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Protestors gather at the intersection of N. Foster and Fairfields, near the Triple S Food Mart after Alton Sterling was shot and killed by Baton Rouge Police in the early hours of Tuesday morning, July 5, 2016, in Baton Rouge, La.

An earlier video showing the same incident sparked a social media outcry and public protests over the latest case of alleged police brutality against African-Americans.

Hundreds chanted “black lives matter” and “no justice, no peace” on the streets as thousands claimed the shooting was racially motivated.

The two police officers involved in the shooting, Blane Salamoni and Howie Lake, have both been put on administrative leave, Baton Rouge Police confirmed.
