A look back at Jennifer Lopez’s romance with Puff Daddy that almost ended in jail time

Jennifer Lopez and P Diddy

Jennifer Lopez will be hoping she has better luck dating a rapper the second time around…

The Pitbull collaborator has sparked rumours she’s dating Drake after the pair shared a cuddly snap of themselves on Instagram over the festive period .

But the Take Care hitmaker isn’t the first rapper that Jennifer has dated before.

Back when she was working on her first album, On The Six, the sexy star hit it off with bad boy rapper/producer P Diddy (Sean Combs).

However, he quickly turned out to be a little more of a bad boy than Jen had originally hoped for.

In December 1999, Diddy was arrested in relation to a shooting at a night club in the heart of Manhatten.

Three people were injured after a gun was fired during a scuffle that allegedly began after Sean accidentally bumped into a fellow club goer.

The star was arrested on weapons charges after fleeing the scene, and poor Jen – who was with him at the time – was charged too.

However, the charges against the On The Floor singer were dropped within the hour when it was realised that she had no involvement.

Sean called his lawyers, and after a brief court room battle, the rapper was also acquitted of the charges against him.

Their whirlwind romance never recovered from all the drama, and the couple split soon after the shocking incident hit the headlines.

Here’s hoping Jennifer has better luck with Drake. Although sadly, it looks like the budding romance may have upset Drake’s ex Rihanna.

Eagle-eyed fans noticed that Bajan pop beauty Rihanna, 28, had stopped following J-Lo on Instagram over the weekend.

The pair have been friendly acquaintances for years, which led many fans to ask why the singer all of a sudden chose to stop seeing her snaps.
