Jose Mourinho sends message to Claudio Ranieri after Leicester axe

Jose Mourinho has lent his support to Claudio Ranieri after the Italian was sacked by Leicester.

Foxes chiefs decided to wield the axe following a disastrous run of results that left them hovering dangerously above the Premier League drop zone.

It comes just nine months after Ranieri defied 5000/1 odds to guide Leicester to the title.

Manchester United manager Mourinho, who was sacked by Chelsea last season after he steered them to top honours, has sent a message of support to the 65-year-old.

He uploaded a picture of the pair to Instagram, along with the caption:

“That’s the new football, Claudio. Keep smiling AMICO. Nobody can delete the history you wrote.”
