Internet flogging and the cry of the ruling elite – By Okechukwu Nwafor

Inundated by the verbal and visual lashings concerning Jubril from Sudan, the Nigerian Social Media have recently become a polemically charged space. Nnamdi Kanu sufficiently marshals out ‘his evidence’ to prove that someone else is masking Buhari in Aso Rock. To Buharists, and to certain highbrow senses, his arguments would rather fit well inside the trashcan. Yet the Social Media acts as the whipping instrument here. You see there is a reversal of power politics. Power to steal belongs to the ruling class while power to lash through the Social Media belongs to the defenseless. That was why governor Ganduje got a court injunction to stop the uploading of his bribery video in the Social Media. This is a case of an ancient man parading an ancient sense. It is a case of a human being taking a ghost to a human court. A case of illogical behavior.

Obviously, governor Ganduje and his Mafioso regime are ignoramuses in this internet game. In the internet cult, they are the uninitiated. They are not just good at browsing. They are mentally impoverished in this internet game of wits. Rather they are proficient in thievery and stashing away looted dollars. The ‘Yahoo game’ is not just their thing. Give them computer and Ganduje and his thievery mafias will view Ganduje in the internet stashing away looted dollars and wowing at how these ‘bad guys’ achieved this. They are provoked and suffer from a disease called ‘internet torment.’ Sleep eludes them. Even the billions they ate could not digest. That is called ‘internet flogging.’ When you watch Sharia zealots perform public flogging it is akin to watching Ganduje and his group being flogged by the internet. They cry. They feel heavy pains from the wound. Yet they are the thieves and the vicious leeches who control instruments of conventional war. They are unaware of the tactics of unconventional war.

Nnamdi Kanu said someone else is in Aso Rock. He speaks through the internet. Millions of comments trail his comments in solidarity to his voice and images. Some people are tormented. Plundering agents cry over these outrageous transmission of voices. What surprises them is that this transmission is transmitting at a dangerous frequency and goes on and on, uninterrupted. Yet when they wanted to transmit theirs, their corrupt voices transmitted with a thousand interruptions. They are not just good at transmitting through the internet. They are very good at transmitting corruption and lies. Internet transmission is a high-tech craft. It belongs to the defenseless. You can only master it if you belong to this group.

The torment of the ruling class is how to silence transmitting voices in the internet. They have sleepless nights. They are not just good at this internet stuff. Otherwise why should this Kanu of a man be talking endlessly, and sending countless images, over a funny device? And yet they cannot see him to silence him. Why can’t they see all these scallywags responding to his garbage to permanently shut them up? The internet is wicked. It can drag the giant to his knees.

If you are tormented by this vicious factory of voices and visuals manufacturing what some consider truths while others consider it as falsehood, why don’t you puncture the rumour by asking all Jubrils in the entire Nigerian echelons of power to behave like Nigerians? Ask them to put to shame the malicious liar. By behaving like a Nigerian, Nigerians will be convinced that all the impostors in Abuja are not Jubrils. Behaving like a Nigerian means the recognition of the rights of citizenship of every Nigerian, irrespective of class, ethnicity, religion or otherwise. A Nigerian is one who respects the sanctity of the call by all well-meaning Nigerians for the dissolution of power. It is a call for referendum and an invitation to renegotiate the inescapable dilemma, and predicament, of Nigeria’s nationhood. In fact, it is a call to become a good president, a good senator, a good governor, and a good politician who will sacrifice everything to make Nigeria great again. Whoever does all the above is not a Jubril but a name the person calls him/herself.
