Nollywood Set To Embark On 4-day Fasting, Prayers Against Industry Deaths

Popular pastor, Jerry Eze, is scheduled to lead four days of fasting and prayer with the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) to address the recurring deaths in Nollywood.

The association will embark on the four-day retreat, starting from May 2nd to May 5th, to pray and fast to prevent similar incidents from happening in the future.

The national president of the guild, Emeka Rollas, announced the initiative on Instagram, with emphasis on Pastor Jerry Eze as the programme lead.

Pastor Jerry Eze is the founder of Streams of Joy International Church.

Rollas emphasised the significance of prayers in preventing any more tragedies in Nollywood, especially in light of the recent losses of Junior Pope and Mr. Ibu. Junior Pope died in a boat accident, while Mr. Ibu bravely fought an illness.

The AGN president wrote: “In view of the recent passing of our two veteran members and the devastating tragic boat mishap that claimed the lives of five active practitioners including John Paul Odonwodo, aka, Jnr Pope in Asaba, we have decided to seek divine intervention in fasting and prayers to avert similar occurrence in the future.

“Join us on the Altar of Fire from 2nd May to 5th May 2024 for prayers and declarations to deal with this ugly reproach.

“Actors cannot continue to die like chickens let us reclaim our spiritual airways and highways that seem to have been hijacked by certain powers. Other members of Nollywood are free to join this program. I appeal to all NSPDians all over the world and all lovers of actors of Nollywood to join us in this program.”
