Afrobeats singer Daniel Benson popularly known as BNXN and formerly known as Buju, has revealed that the cost of living in Lagos is higher than in the United States.
The singer, who has relocated to the U.S., noted that he has not faced demands for money from hoodlums or street beggars since moving, a contrast to his experience in Lagos.
During a recent TikTok livestream, BNXN explained that while people also face hardship in the United States, the daily financial pressure is different.
According to him, apart from housing, most expenses in Los Angeles are cheaper.
He disclosed that he pays $12,000 monthly for rent in the U.S., but noted that once rent is settled, there are fewer additional financial demands compared to Lagos.
BNXN said, “I was telling someone, since I got to the United States, nobody has asked me to give them money. And people are also suffering here.
“Lagos is super expensive. It is more expensive than Los Angeles. Aside from housing, every other thing in LA is not expensive. For instance, I am paying $12,000 monthly for my rent. Here you just pay your rent, and you’re good”.
