A Lebanese man Jack Sankey, has been arrested by the police in Akure in Ondo State capital for allegedly having carnal knowledge of minors in the state. He was arrested following a tip-off from the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development. Sankey was accused of defiling secondary school pupils. A woman , Patience Godwin (29) who allegedly recruits the girls for him was also arrested.
According to a source, a 14yrs old girl was found in Sankey’s Odopetu home by the police on the day of his arrest. Patience confessed to the crime saying she had taken young girls of 12yrs old to Sankey’s home on several occasions in exchange for money. Over 86 minors were said to have fallen prey of Sankey’s defilement. According to the Police spokesman, Wole Ogodo, said Sankey defended himself by saying he didn’t force any of the girls to be intimate with him. The suspect is in the police custody pending the time of his trial in court.
