Cristiano Ronaldo has admitted he still thinks about Manchester United.
Speaking in Zurich as he picked up his world player of the year gong the 29-year-old conceded he still holds his former club in high esteem.
“I think about Manchester United,” he said. “The beginning of my career was there, that’s where I started.
Ronaldo enjoyed a strong relationship with Sir Alex Ferguson during his time in Manchester and he has revealed even now both have moved on they are still very much in touch.
Indeed, the Portuguese admitted he misses his former boss very much.
“I haven’t had a message from Sir Alex yet but I speak with him often,” he added.
“He told me to keep improving all the time. He said: ‘Cristiano, you’re the best, don’t worry about the rest’.
“He’s fantastic, I miss him.”
