I was discussing with my neighbour over the weekend, and she complained to me about her son she wants to enroll in nursery 2, in one of the schools owned by one of the popular churches in Nigeria.
According to her, only the form alone is N5,000, then the school fees is about N200, 000, plus all the vigorous processes involved.
I wrote the part one of this issue about this time last year, though a popular actor reposted it and took the credit…the message was passed across anyway!
In this modern time, I don’t judge people that tell me that they don’t go to church anymore. Why, because the modern church is more like a business club, meant for the rich.
Who are you in this modern church if you don’t have money? It doesn’t matter how I made the money, once I drop the cheque, the church will be ever ready to accept it, without asking questions.
But how can a church own a school and the poor can’t attend it…?
How can you be teaching people how they can make it to the kingdom of God when they can’t enter your own earthly ‘kingdom’, built with people’s tithes and donations…?
The high rate of crimes we are witnessing today, is the aftermath of lack of focus on education in the past, which everybody including the church is paying for it now. The kidnappers, militants, robbers, etc. If these kinds of people had access to good education back in the days, the case wouldn’t be like this now. Education is the key, and the way through!
Atiku Abubakar few days ago, begged wealth Nigerians to please help by sending poor kids to school, but I can say for sure that the church has money, and can do better for these poor children.
Our future is in danger, the rate at which our kids are dropping out of school because of money, is alarming!
The early Christian church was about love and helping each other as one. But it is sad that the modern church is all about money and who is who, while the poor keep suffering and dying in pains.
And for any one reading this now, please don’t be a prisoner to any church, rather be for Christ. Jesus is not the church, rather the only way, for Christians who believe…
