Nigerian Youths raze man’s house for killing kinsman in South Africa

Youths of Amorie village in the Uburu community in the Orlu West Local Government Area of Imo State on Wednesday set a house belonging to one Nwazugbo Nsofor ablaze.

A video footage had gone viral on the social media in the state showing how Nsofor stoned his cousin, Ife Odenigbo, to death in South Africa during a quarrel over an alleged unsuccessful business deal.

The footage showed the victim fell on the ground and died immediately.

Angered by the development, relatives of the deceased mobilised themselves and set the house of the suspect on fire, a community source told Punch correspondent.

Apart from setting the house of the suspect ablaze, the irate youths destroyed his property.

Punch correspondent learnt that while Nsofor hails from Etiti village in Ubulu community, the deceased hailed from Amorie village in the same community.

When contacted, the police spokesperson in the state, Orlando Ikeokwu, said the police had begun manhunt for those who set the house ablaze.
